I think it’s safe to say that almost everyone has heard the verse John 3:16.
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16
You see this verse so much that it sometimes feels cliche, but it’s still the Word of God. This verse perfectly exemplifies God’s love for us.
God’s love was so great that even though we didn’t deserve it, He sent His son to die on the cross so that we could have a relationship with Him. He didn’t only sacrifice for a select few, but for the world. The verse says that God so loved the world, not the perfect people, but everyone. That’s so profound because that is true love, that no matter who the other person is or how they feel about you, you still love them. That is the love we should have, we are to follow God’s example. We don’t deserve His love but He loves us anyway.
Generosity in Love
Notice the verse says “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son”. In true love there is generosity. God so loved the world that He gave. An act of love is generosity and this verse shows that.
As you go about your day, I encourage you to love everyone, regardless of who they are. Along with that, I encourage you to step out in an act of generosity this week and show the love of Christ.
