If you’ve lived any length of time on this earth, you know that this life is filled with trials and frustration. What do we do when we are faced with these trials?
Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. James 1:2-3
It’s amazing that we can have joy in Christ through the trials, knowing that it produces perseverance. This is easier said than done. When we face trials, we can become frustrated and angry. This can cause us to quit and give up. The testing of our faith builds perseverance, but if we fail to count our trials as pure joy that perseverance that this verse is talking about won’t be built.
When we can begin to count all trials as pure joy we will be walking in the way God has intended. Counting trials as pure joy causes us to look at the world differently. We are able to see things with a freshness, it can help us see how God sees.
No matter how hard or painful the trial may be, we can have the confidence in God knowing that He will use what we have gone through for our good.
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28
Let’s go into the world today knowing that we have been called according to His purpose and that God works for our good. In trials, the testing of our faith produces perseverance.
