Throughout our life, we see people put on a pedestal for making it to the top. These people gave up everything for their fame. But what do they gain? A little bit of stardom? Both people, who have “everything” and “nothing” will all come to an end. That seems sad but it doesn’t have to be.
What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul? Matthew 16:26
The question is what is it worth to gain the world and forfeit your soul? No matter what you do to get in front in this life, without Jesus there is no hope. So yes, it is possible to become insanely famous, to “have it all”, but if it doesn’t glorify God what is it worth. When our life glorifies God, there is something special about it. It’s not that we’re any better than anyone but it’s our God who is great beyond all understanding.
When we are in Christ, our life is better. Our circumstances may not be better, but we have a hope in the one who is greater. Although there may be storms we know that God is there with us to carry us through. No amount of wealth or fame is as valuable as the love and presence of the living God.
