We live in a culture that is so heavily based on judgment. Think about all the contestant TV shows or polls that we participate in on Twitter. Through the media we take in, we are shown that we are to judge everything and everyone or have a strong opinion about all things and all people.
This creates a culture that is based on judging others because they are different, but who are we to judge? When we judge others, we are putting ourselves above them, saying we are better than them, that is why we think we are in the place to judge them. In reality, we are no better than anyone else, we just want to make ourselves feel better because we are filled with brokenness and feel inadequate.
“Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.” Luke 6:37
Here Jesus tells us that if we do not judge we won’t be judged, if we don’t condemn we won’t be condemned, and if we forgive we will be forgiven.
Becuase of the sacrifice of Jesus, We are not judged, we are not condemned, instead we are forgiven. Through Jesus we are made righteous, our sins are washed away. We are to go and be Christlike and we haven’t been judged or condemned by God. Instead, we’ve been forgiven and we should go and do likewise.
